It seems to me that I am one of the few who is really interested in helping to bring about a change in Highland Park.The HP Folks is a real handy tool to use to rebuild our communities here in Highland Park.I am sure many visitors to this site do talk,and I do not see why there is a problem to spread information that's posted on HP Folks.PLus HP Folks was created to service the Highland Park communities.Another concern is hopefully that since Highland Park is a 98% Afro American community we can learn how to respect one another,not only the citizens of the community,but those who was elected to serve on the City Administration,and remember there is no BIG I and little U here in our city.In closing we need to get our act together so that these outsiders from Lansing can go back to the outside from which they came from,and leave the people of HIghland Park alone.Stop the Killing,Stop the Stealing,and stop the wheeling & dealing,and the dumping on our street curbs & alleys.These are my desires for the upcoming year.But they should be a reality in your world too.Seasons greetings to ALL,and may you be blessed in the upcoming year. | ||

Right On Right On to you Mr Hillard,and hello to everyone else.Highland Park is not just another city inside of a big city,but it's a place that was torn apart by greedy,and self-centered people with crisis,and with strong community support our city can rise again.I have encountered many negetive attitudes from other community citizens, and sometimes their actions speaks for them.To my friend Mr Hillard,thanks for your positive support throughout 2004,and to my community Brothers,Sisters,and my Elders,let's stop talking loud and saying nothing,and put some action into the community in 2005. Well another secret citizen has hit again.I care about the racism.We all are Brothers & Sisters, does that make us see eye to eye? get real.We have been under the dictationship of Ramona Pearson soon be 4 years,show me one thing she have given the Council the okay to approve without her permission,and if we ALL are Brothers & Sisters(as you say)our neighborhoods would look better.The elder would be able to go to the store without getting robbed.The alleys would be cleaner and curbs would be trash free,and we all would be concerned about the wrong doing in our neighborhoods here in Highland Park.Only cowards would hide their names.Brothers & Sisters do not allow a outsider to come into the family (since we all are Brothers & Sisters)and break the family up since Ramona Pearson came here.True Brothers & Sisters cuss and fight but they come to an agreement once it's said and done.Anonymous you need to wake up if you think that racism is dead.However I do have a problem when a black person is used by another race to hold us back,and we are in denial about what's really going on.I agree the crisis we are in is not a black or white thing.But the game is who's getting used.In closing,Since we Brothers & Sisters why we are allowing the fire station to be relocated on the far east side of Highland Pk (Oakland Ave) south of the Davison Fwy when there is houses West of Woodward from Tuexdo to 6 mile. So there's your answer to your question.Come to any City Council meeting that's held every third Mondaysee,hear,and meet and talk to me Chicken I will be there. See I am not affaid to speak up for my community,and show me what middle class or lower class Black can afford one of the new homes at a time where economics is bad.So don't just claim yourself to be a Brother or Sister act like one,and support the positive things that's happening here in Highland Park,and stop your moaning.
