As a Community Activist here in Highland Park I know that somewhere here within the city lay some very historical information as well as decendants of early families that's still here in our city. Febuary 2005 is Black History month, and I am putting together a educational program that will run a week, and this program will visit the elementary and middle school levels to talk about Blacks in the City of Highland Park history.Black History is our month to acknowledge the many many great achievements that took place here in the big HP in the past, and it will also honor the people that's working hard to re build Highland Park today. This project will not be called a discriminating project.Because there was Blacks who was here way before the foreign excharge ever allowed people from the outside to come into our cities to invade them.If any of your HP FOLK readers know anyone who have been living here in Highland Park more then 40 years,or know someone please contact me so that they can fill out a survey form to become part of the Highland Park Freedom Train program.I can be reached at: 313-866-0261 William AkbarX. As the project develope more details will be given at community meetings,as well as at the City Council meetings. The deadline for all information is 12-20-2004. Anyone is welcome to join the Highland Park Freedom Train.Hopefully I can get the our city many historians assistances,as well as support from the Highland Park board of Education.Until the next time PEACE
